Automation Capabilties

AVC/AGC – monitoring of arc gap through voltage (AVC) for TIG or current (AGC) for MIG applications. This allow you to weld on pipe or fittings that are not round and have potential high low mismatch.

Compatibility with either MIG or TIG welding solutions.

Optional Arc View systems from Xiris.

Programmable welding programs that manage oscillation width, travel speeds, and welding parameters from pass to pass.

Single source power (all we need is 1 480 3-phase connection for the entire system – including the welding power source).

Portability of this system allows for the use of an R2W-2 system in either MIG or TIG configuration as a rental unit as well.

Optional pipe supports and pipe support track to keep pipe spool in line with center of gripper.

Gripper options for 2-24”, 2-36”, 4-48.

Main Components

R2W-2 systems from Redi2Weld come with a mobile welding cart that houses: the column and boom (4×4 standard), control cabinet, optional visionsystem, PLC unit, and welding power source and wire feeders.

The cart sits on a rugged and powder-coated track system that keeps the column and boom in line with the centerline of the headstock.

The headstocks designed and manufactured by Redi2Weld are built with both accuracy and durability in mind.

Headstocks come with an extremely durable slewing ring bearing and worm gear drive to ensure a zero backlash and smooth rotation. The headstocks on the R2W-2 system have a manual center line adjustment allowing the welder to adjust the height of the gripper to afford longer branch connections and welder comfort.

With any Redi2Weld system, we recommend the use of the EWM product line for both MIG and TIG systems. 

We do have the ability to integrate new or customer-owned power supplies, such as the Miller Pipeworx or Lincoln PipeFab for MIG applications. 

For TIG welding applications, the EWM TIG Technology utilizing TIGSPEED is used on all Redi2Weld TIG systems. 

An intuitive controller allows you to program in every aspect of the weld, from all the rotation and oscillation all the way up to all of our welding parameters as well. This allows you to weld root to cap without stopping to change programs or settings. The controller also allows you to save a library of welds without having to reprogram each and every pipe size.

Designed with operator safety in mind, the remote pendant allows the operator to get away from the arc, and can complete the weld without a hood by using the remote along with the optional Xiris vision system. 

The weld camera allows the operator to be removed from the welding arc to operate and remotely monitor the process through an HMI PC without the need of a welding helmet. This helps to reduce the risk of any operator fatigue throughout the multiple welding passes. Altogether the automated system and the Xiris Weld Camera help create welds at a high rate of efficiency and quality.
